Syrian refugees: Thousands flee to Iraq
ARBAT, Iraq - Thousands of refugees crossed the Iraqi border Monday, escaping escalating violence between extremist groups and Kurdish militias in northeastern Syria and creating what some officials call a "crisis situation" in Iraqi Kurdistan.
"We do not have enough resources to deal with this problem, and there has been a lack of donations from the international community for the refugees," Dindar Zebari, deputy minister in the Kurdistan Regional Government's Department of Foreign Relations told USA TODAY.
